Hallstone Ventures, LLC (“Hallstone,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website at hallstoneventures.com. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle information when you visit our website or interact with us.

We collect the following types of information:

• Information you provide directly. Our contact form collects your name, email address, and message. Our founder support application collects a longer set of details, including your name, email address, LinkedIn profile, company name and website, stage and traction, the kinds of support you are looking for, your priorities, and free-text answers describing your business, the challenges you are working through, and anything else you choose to tell us. You may also include a link to a deck.
• Newsletter sign-ups. Subscriptions to the AI & MediaTech Insider newsletter are handled by our newsletter platform, which collects your email address directly.
• Usage and analytics data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It collects pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, approximate location derived from your IP address, and browser and device type. We also record custom analytics events on the founder support application when the page is viewed, when the form is started, and when a submission succeeds or fails.
• Marketing attribution data. If you arrive through a campaign link, we store the campaign parameters in that link along with the referring URL, the page you landed on, the first page you saw, and the time of your first visit. This is held in your browser’s local and session storage. If you later submit a founder support application, that attribution data is sent with your application and stored alongside it, which means it is linked to you and is not anonymous.
• Cookies and similar technologies. Google Analytics sets cookies, and we use browser local and session storage as described above. You can disable cookies in your browser settings and clear local storage at any time.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to inquiries and communicate with founders, partners, and prospective limited partners
• Send our newsletter and other communications you have opted into
• Understand how our website is being used and improve its content and performance
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website and conducting our business — such as email platforms, analytics providers, and cloud services — solely as necessary to provide those services. These providers are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential and use it only for the purposes we specify.

Third-Party Services

We rely on the third-party services listed below. Each has its own privacy policy and may collect data independently when you interact with it. We encourage you to review their policies directly.

• Google Analytics for website analytics and the custom events described above.
• Resend to transmit the contents of our contact form and our founder support application to us by email.
• Microsoft 365 for storage. Founder support applications are written to a spreadsheet in Hallstone’s Microsoft account through the Microsoft Graph API, including the free-text answers you provide.
• Beehiiv, which publishes the AI & MediaTech Insider newsletter at insider.hallstone.vc. We display recent issue titles and images on this site, and newsletter subscriptions are processed by Beehiiv.
• Vimeo and YouTube, which host video we embed on this site. Their players may set cookies and collect viewing data when you play a video.
• Our website hosting provider, which operates the servers this site runs on.

Our site also links out to third-party platforms such as LinkedIn and podcast services. Following those links takes you to sites we do not control.

Data Retention

Contact form messages reach us by email and are retained in our email system as part of our ordinary correspondence.

Founder support applications are stored in two places: a spreadsheet in Hallstone’s Microsoft 365 account, and a copy written to the file system of the server that runs this website, both as an individual record and as an entry in a running log file. We retain applications for as long as we are considering or supporting your company, and we may keep them beyond that as a record of who has approached us.

Analytics data is retained according to the settings in our Google Analytics account. Attribution data held in your browser stays there until you clear it.

We keep personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy or as required by applicable law. You may request deletion of your information at any time by contacting us at the address below.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you, or to opt out of certain uses. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
